Rehau still sells them. Best fitting going IMHO. A little slow but strong.

    Being discontinued

Just received notice via email that the Uponor SSC fitting system is being discontinued. They will stop accepting orders Nov 1, 2006. They will stop shipping orders on Dec 1, 2006.

I've got to say, I'm a little bummed. Transitioning a shop from proprex to SSC was a hassle and a little expensive, now we have to transition back (???). I have also been using quite a bit of the Multicor tube and Multipress fitting. I hope that is not on some bean counters chopping block.

I'm not bashing Uponor, Cindy Albrect has gone to bat for me on other unrelated items. (Can't thank her enough at times) They are a top-shelf company that I will stick with. But this SSC system was a big deal to me. (I wonder if sales of SSC are a little to good and it is detracting from propex.)

Anyone else transition to this SSC from Propex?

    Regards,

    PR

well, good thing i didnt buy into making my boiler headers

out of the stuff ..God was good to me on that scathingly brilliant idea ....

i thought it looked very This century and would look straight and square and...could have the occasional swoopy bend for the more esthetic "human" style:)

i also considered making some panel rads out of it that would basically have a round headder and spiral wrapped vertical risers...well,... lucky me. i wont be doing that now :)

sortta shot that idea all to ....
