Make sure to pay close attention to the primary and secondary piping diagrams, as well as the configuration of the pumps, with regards to location. That includes primary pump, secondary pump and indirect pump.

Thanks - Going to go with Mod/Con - Ultra

Thanks to all for the help. Going with the Ultra 155(
    Also going with an indirect.

    I almost made a big mistake - I am winding up with a 155k mod/con and almost(without this site) got stuck with a C-I 250k unit.

Any tips on installation? My guy said this morning that it needs stainless steel exhaust and that will add alot of $$$. Apparently here in MA all powervented boilers have to be 7' above ground level. That is a problem in itself....

In Mass you can vent to manufact Specs if you are under 7' above grade you needa sgn and co dectector hardwire with backup etc etc

That don't have to be 7 feet

But if they are lower you have to have a CO detector hard wired on the same floor near the boiler. battery ones on each above. And a sign stating gas vent directly below , keep clear of obstruction attached to the house, directly above the vent, and 8 feet above the ground.
I am not familiar with the wm ultra so can't help you there

    All the best

Last time I did an Ultra it was vented in PVC pipe you should ask your installer more questions

    Go here....

and down load your own copy of the installation manual... you'll probably know more than the contractor..... he put the manual by the toilet, and NOT to be used for reading material either....:-) Make SURE he follows the piping instruction to the T!!!!
Don't live in Mass. so I can't say about their code, but I'm sure that a creative mind could find plenty of ways to get around that.....
