i am considering doing a Red and Green boiler room in
Honour of the Red Green Show.
*~/:)
i will of course require some right efforting and right thought from the Community the Red boiler and the Red expansion tank and the red back flow fast fill, a red injection pump ....any other red things that might offset the Taco green?0 -
If they are in the planning
you could get red Check valves, and enough preplanning all red handles on the ball valves and boiler drains.0 -
Nice appointment:)
Thats a good idea:)0 -
It's nice
to have a plan. I personally love Red Green, but never considered paying homage to him. I might have put everything together with duct tape if I did. WW

Ahhhh,
The handymans secret weapon !
Keep your stick on the ice, and remember...I'm puliin for ya.0 -
Wayne, do you have a link to...
the pipe insulation that comes in colours ? the spectral array that Hot Rod posted is what i am remembering....0 -
So what kind of boiler would Red Green Build...
I'm not sure what Red Green would use for a boiler; I'm torn between the thoughs of him using gas grill propane bottles, corn, or bags of surplus packing peanuts for fuel (they do burn).
A threaded mans nightmare; unless he solders joint on the gas grill.... and duct tape to hold the pipe (and other things) in place....
Any more ideas?
When we get it done... we could always submit it as a story idea...

Just Remember Weez,
If the women don't find ya handsome... they should at least find ya handy. I'll bet ol' Red would do some kinda internet "Legionella Special" that would recycle that good hot floor water by running it through the shower. What do you think? Kevin0 -
he is incredibly inventive, So
going with the idea that whatever man can make man can break ,and it is in the "Fixing"the original that he truly "shines" it will take some rather advanced Designe considerations *~/:)0 -
Which Taco products are you using? Incidentally, I have Taco green spray paint I am willing to share with you if you need it.Joe Mattiello

Red actually had 2 secret weapon
duct tape and WD40.
If it moves and it shouldn't duct tape.
If it should move and wont, WD40.

Plaid!
Weez, red and green plaid flannel pipe wrap will definitely be needed in the boiler room. Even though duct tape would be the norm here, I'm sure that between the venting and the gas piping, there may not be enough tape. The coat hangar piping supports are a must as well!
I could easily imagine an episode showing Bill Smith hooking up a boiler. A sketch with him doing the gaswork and piping and then everything blowing up! L0 -
Thats good buh ummmm,,
i was really tring to keep away from the Blowing up part *~/:)
the plaid part is GOOD though ...0 -
Sorry Weez
Don't have that link. WW

but then
it would really be a proper tribute if dont blow up!!!
however the end user may not like it..ok ditch the boom factor for consumer confidence...but blow the old one up a la mythbusters inan old quarry to appease the duct tape gods0 -
lets explore some of the newer pieces we have available...
We could have an exhaust manifold lashed into some cherry bombs for the muffler on the exhaust for the environmenalist in the crowd
that should please em and if it is tuned just right i can make it back fire like an exhaust valve
that way we can appease the Boom Gods and utilize the latest URO peen Technology with some parts off the older parts vehicles ,which should result in a considerable savings....0 -
ok
but post pics0 -
Woops -- Two separate things...
The boom boom part was not for YOUR boiler room...
More of an idea for the show - they could have a Bill Smith sketch showing him installing a boiler, maybe even an open system combined with black water heat recovery so there'll be lots of ummm... stuff to blow up! L
One of my 6 year olds would probably give you better ideas that are closer to Red's. I suggested a raised fort (in other words, a treeless treehouse) in the yard and he was worried about the electrical hookup because he wants a power tilt roof among other things such as 4 bedrooms and a heating system of course (never mind that our house won't really have one until I find my ModCond person ).
Now Red's "projects" usually combine a few functions that aren't normally ever thought of together (and usually should never be combined). Now a boiler room at the North Pole??? hrmmm... at least get something great for venting. I'm thinking of a large statue of a woman sunbathing prone up high on your roof... 'venting'. That would even surpass that breathing dragon shown here years ago.0
