Sillver King silicone lube.
Has anyone used Silver King silicone hydronic system lube additive? Any problems or comments? I wonder how it works, if it does. Thank you.0 -
The stuff's been around...
For as long as I've been spinning a wrench.
We have found it harmless, and usually pumped into a system that has so many other problems, that it was a wasted effort to do something that is unecessary anyhow.
If the system is clean, there is no need for such a product. If it's dirty, it needs to be cleaned, not to become a mysterious chemical "soup" from whatever it is that's already in there, plus yet another compound that will become an accumulation of yet another impurity!
What makes you suspect the product would be beneficial?0 -
Ken
The boss has been pushing it. Never had a problem by NOT using it. I'm wondering if it is snake oil. It does have that silvery sheen to it a year after. The customers have seen no difference in system performance though. Have you seen any lasting benefit in a new system? Does it keep system clean and lubricated as the package suggests as opposed to a system without it? I'm a skeptic, so I think not. I have used Squick. That works. Thanks.0
