Heat pumps

I have installed a couple of Geo/radiant systems so far I have used Econar but just wanted to know what others are using. So far so good with the performance. But to me product training and education is as imporant as performance. I am looking at going to the Econar training course this fall.
Thanks Jeffrey

    Heat pump

We have used Tetco, Waterfurnace and ECR, but have been using a lot of Florida Heat Pumps (FHP)the last few years. I prefer them. No problems to report.

    Location, location, location...

We have removed and junked virtually all heat pumps in our area of north jersey and anything north thereof.

Geo-thermal is viable, but difficult to justify with the initial expense factored in, ground heat gain over long time-frames, and the advent of mid-90% mod-cons.

If there are enough cooling days to justify their installation, it doesn't appear to be a viable technology much north of the Carolinas, unless the owner has acres of geo-field land, the right soil mix and lots of up-front $$$ to invest.

Pay backs seem to border on being met around the time the system self-destructs.

Are these being installed where there's over 3,000 degree days?
