went there yesterday and saw burnhams new three pass oil fired steamer. Also met Glen, both very nice, but no literature yet on the steamer and Glen didn't need any paperwork. lol. Two 2" steam connections right smack dab in the middle of the top of the boiler, controls in front, return and indirect tappings in the rear. The flue piping connection was mid height in the back, very low compared to other boilers. Both steam connections required for proper header installs. Interesting....wondering what a header will look like. You can't go front to back 'cause the flue is in the way; left to right or vice-versa is the only way, BUT more fittings are needed to pick up the risers and have the system T's in the right place. I wonder...how many manufacturers ask installers what we would like to see on a new product? On this one I think side-by-each steam tappings would be more installer friendly. bwdik?ijap

Darn!
That sucks. Larry Fine from Blackman called and asked if I wanted to attend. Had to finish some loose ends and could not make it.
Really wanted to meet Glenn.
Do we, as Wetheads, have a system in place to meet each other at such events? I mean, besides the Confident Smile?
Is anyone going to Chicago later this month? I'll be there.
Why do they hold these events during the beginning of heating season? There was an error rendering this rich post.

Larry Fine, as in Moe & Curley?
Hey Al, I got my tics from Larry also.0 -
HOW 'BOUT THIS...
...the mfgs. and reps post it here when and where, and they provide a sign such as "WALLEYS" in a well traveled location within the event.........such as the bar?0 -

Sure was nice meeting you and my apologies for having to cut our conversation short, but things were a bit on the busy side. Al...I'm sorry you didn't get to attend as I would have liked to meet you as well. It seems that everywhere I go and every event I attend I get to meet more and more of the fine people that frequent this site and others.
I was in the lab in Lancaster today and saw the answer to your piping questions. We have one fitted up with a header and it actually works out quite well. This will be well detailed in the Installation Manual. Once again, the MegaSteam boiler will be rolling out later in the fall. The literature and more details will be available a bit prior to that. Thanks again for all the kind words!
As Frank and about 400+ other contractors saw last evening at Yankee Stadium, 2006 has proven to be a "Major League Year" for Burnham product wise. We have recently introduced many other products to the marketplace such as the PVG (Power Vented), SCG (Sealed Combustion), CHG (Condensing-Modulating) and Series 8H gas boilers as well as the Direct Vent MPO-DV oil-fired boiler equipped with the Beckett NX burner. In addition to the MegaSteam boiler, you will also see at least one more gas-fired high efficiency condensing boiler arrive this fall with even more products planned for release in early 2007. As I stated before, this is a record year for new product introduction for Burnham. Thanks for your support and business!
