If there is a CP number still on the boiler, you can find out exactly what you have.
It sounds like you you probably have a 468. This boiler is rated at 465 sqaure feet of steam and 111.8 net steam mbh. You can look under obsolete product literature at www.weil-mclain.com

I have a Weil Mclain 4 section steam boiler (oil) which is about 15 yrs old and has no tag anywhere to be found wanted to know what how to find the btu input/output. Is there a rule of thumb number of BTU's per section?

Weil 468
is rated at 465 Sq/ft.This is irrelavant to sizing a new boiler which is done by sq/ft of radiation, not heat loss of house
