Radiant Walls

I am thinking of installing radiant walls around a 3ft deep by 5ft round conventional tub. There is a circular stub wall around it for 180 degrees and an exterior wall on the other side. The biggest problem is that it is in a corner below two 5ft by 5ft windows. I would like to install radiant in the stub wall to help heat the whole room and to heat the tub. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks Joe

  • Never thougt I'd say this...

but I'd suggest you go with a low watt radiant product. Like Watts Heat Weave or the like.

Unless you have lots of time and an immediate access to a good hydronic heat source of course:-)

Fast response, no potential of leakage, don't mind if it gets holes poke in it, easy to control (twist timer).

There ARE special applications for electric radiant. Fer sure.

I've done circular walls with transfer plates

use the 3/8" size foir tighter bends. if you go with electric mat or cable check about wet location restrictions.

    heresy, the inquisition commences

I can't believe I read those words from one of the founding wetheads! ;)

Who's next Hot Rod? Uh oh too late

Well I guess, it is any day now that Steamhead will recommend converting from steam to anything else...........

Well before I ride off into the sunset on my high horse...
I have a small electric radiant bathroom under my belt. Heat pumps and limited budgets are real buzzkills!
