    new radiant system & controls

Building a new 2 story home on LI. NY.Would love to have full radiant in the home but its tight on the budget. So we have full radiant on main floor w/Forced air as supplement, mix of tile & hardwood flooring. Radiant in bathrooms of 2 nd floor w/ Forced air to remaining areas.
I have some areas where we can't get enough floor heat due to the wood floors, What type of controls will work best in this set up?
How about thermostats, any ideas one that will start up the forced air if the radiant can't maintain?
    Thanks for any ideas!

    ANDY,
THE ONLY WAY I CAN THINK OF DOING IT IS WITH A LOGIC BASED CONTROL PANEL AND YOU WOULD HAVE SENSORS AND NO S'TATS UNLESS YOU WANTED TO SWITCH IT OVER MANUALLY. WITH A CONTROL PANEL YOU WOULD WRITE A SHORT PROGRAM THAT IF AFTER X MINS WITH THE RADIANT RUNNING, THE FORCED AIR WOULD RUN IF THE TEMPERATURE SETPOINT IS NOT BEING MAINTAINED

why cant you get all of the heat from the floor its not to often that suppliment heat is needed in a well built home and a properly designed system. I would check your heat loss calcs first. If you are on a budget the proper radiant design will save alot of money in not only materials but energy use. Some manufacturers will do this at no charge. Our company is on LI we have A very good design program and can do the design for you if you need.
