Relocating a Radiator

Theoretically speaking, is it possible to have this radiator moved from its current
location to under the left window in the picture? I have no problem with
the supply pipe being above the level of the floor. Though it can't be seen in this picture, the supply valve is on the right side of the rad. (this is a one pipe system).

    Access

Is there access underneath the radiator? (basement, crawlspace.)

    Yes

Yes, it's completely accessible. (see pic)

    Should not be a problem.

As long as you maintain you pitch, which will probably partially block your basement window,....I don't see a problem with moving it 4 '.

Seems simple, or am I missing something looking at the picture?

I agree, should not be a problem.

Just as you said, keep the pitch. But the bigger question is, if there is room below to do it the traditional (up and in) way, why not do so.

My concern too is pitch, that you might create a problem (pings and bangs) where there currently and presumably is not any. Floors may not be level over that distance and the radiator may have to be shimmed, plus all the exposed piping...

    If at all possible

cut a tee in and go up and in (as was suggested) to the rad in its new location. Also as suggested make sure of the pitch of the rad in its new location. Oh yeah, plug or remove old tee.
