New Office/Shop

Nice going Jeffrey! Glad to hear you are doing well and prospering. I remember when I too moved out of the house into an office/shop location. I actually felt like a "real" contractor after doing that. Now you will watch the space grow smaller and smaller each passing month, and you will now collect items you never thought you would own, you will soon be looking for a larger space and room for the office staff! Keep up the good work!

    New Office/Shop

I am pleased to announce that I am out of the home office and into a new shop/office. BIG steps for little me. I am excited to use the office more an education center for customers, contractors and architects. I had a storage unit for the past 3 years and to have a heated shop area yea now we are talking. Looking forward to assembling boiler control panels in the shop. The other great benefits are the close proximity to the supply house and hardware store)both are 2 minutes away). I will be installing diffrent flooring over my radiant panel samples on the wall to show how its done. The biggest reason I have become sucessful is from education. Now I have the ability to share this information with my cliets and contractors in a space that has a wealth of information at my finger times. I have an attached second room attched to the office that we are still working on, this is going to be used as a conference room. Hopefully soon enough I wil also hae a wall hung boiler on the wall both for display and heat. Cheers to me taking my time and growing in right direction.

    Meeting

Just this week alone I have already had 4 meetings. That is 4 more than I had at my home office. So far people really love the samples pieces of the radiant panels, manifold and Oventrop comfort dial. I am going to next cover the WB panel with wood floor and tile samples. By the way the tile installer is a friend who has installed 3 WB pojects with me this year. He said"the warmboard is the best product to install his tile on, it's flatter and more consistant than anything else" WB works better for us as comfort specialist and for all flooring contractors. It is a win win situation!
    Thanks for all the positivity.

    Looky Good! *~/:)

i'd be soo habby for a connex box no heat and an extension cord:) just this very day i was thinking ...Do we Have a library for the mechanical contractors? Brian said "what about getting us all together about 4 hours a month to keep up on some of the gizmoes and skill sets tools etc"....Sounds like a couple ideas that might be good anywhere maybe even in Simply Rad land :)

  • I especialy like...

the Budweiser Plan Holder. We use Vodka bottles for that purpose in our office:-)

Congrats Jeff, I look forward to working with you, possibly this summer.

And you are right about the WarmBoard thing. It IS the best thing going. Especially with low temp heat sources like solar and GSHP.

Bottom line, after all the trade offs of doing gyp or lite weight cement, the WB may be slightly more expensive, but the thermal efficiency of this system versus a cementitious product will more than recover the meager additional costs of the WB.

    You go boy!

    Congrats Jeff!

Where exactly are you…off Hwy 40 on west end of town?
Is that an Oventrop LH Temp. Sensor (6.5 Cap. Tube) on a WatttsRad Manifold?
If so, that is just too cool! -Greg Gibbs
  • Does it take...

more than 2 minutes to get from one end of Steamboat to the other??? Oh, wait, I forgot. They got a traffic light in town now :-)

My Aunt used to own the Anchor Motel, which is right where the road crosses the river on your way to Howelson Hill ski jump. Those were the days!

    Namaste Singh :)

I noticed the flat screen too and think that the book shelf might give a new meaning to Flat screen:) still, it does look like a dream come true:) Space for stuff and a place to present right thinking :)

Was that back when the other side of the river was for gun slingers and ladys of the night. They called that area Brookln and at one point it was the only place you could get whisky or in your case vodka and women. Now it's just a nice little neighborhood. With 400" of snowfall this year it can take time to get from place to place. The picture is from February.
Yea the shelf well I must do something about it now because everyone who has come in says something and even you guys out there in cyberland comment. I am looking for a bookshelf. Why dont the manufactures just make things simpler so you do not need all this information.

Just be sure to get the stirrups off the desk and in the drawer before customers come in. We are, after all, professionals.

    Wow!

My office/shop is about the size of a bathroom in your facility. Great job. Are you a wholesaler? Do you have a bar for the employees, great way to raise more revenue, cause you know everyone enjoys happy hour!

I smell a story here. I'm always interested in the growing pains (and gains) of a small businessperson. Keep me in the loop, eh? Best of luck.

  • Bars for employees...

Under previous ownership, you COULD get a quick beer or two or four at WSI... Wisely, new ownership put a halt to it. Those WERE the days..

Wore out more than a few elbos and jaw bone muscles leaning on the counter, sucking up a cold draft brew.

Still a great bunch of people to deal with.
