Death of the Radiators

Doesn't this just make you sick? All these beauties are dead due to a blown out pilot light. The homeowners were gone for 2 weeks during out coldest time of the year.

Just lost my dinner
Sell them a freeze alert. What's going in there now?

Hi Steamhead, The homeowner is putting the house up for sale and is doing only what needs to be done to sell it. If it would have been possible to put in forced air, he probably would have done it. We are replacing every one of the radiators. The old Arco asbestos covered beast is still in the basement. It and all the piping in the basement seems to have withstood the freezing. The sad thing is that when the house sells, the new owner will probably remodel the place and tear out all the radiators anyway. Guess I'll put my card on the boiler with hopes he will call me to take them all out.

Find out when the house sells
and when the new owners are in, stop by and see them. I've saved a couple systems that way.
