always keep a spare therocouple or two just in case.

    gas pilot went out

    we woke to a cold house sat morn. The pilot had gone out but it relit right away and everything has been running fine since. What should we do if any thing ? its a weil mclean 150,000. the flue seems fine

    This happens. Nothing needs to be done unless it does it again. Everything and everybody has to be allowed to mess up occasionally.

    If all looks ok when the burners light, no flue spillage, and the pilot flame envelopes 3/8 to 1/2 inch of the tip I would install a new thermocouple. They have a 5 to 10 year life per honeywell, a cheap bit of maintenance every 5 years. Then if the problem repeats you will need to spend some $ on a more thorough diagnosis.
