    well I can't

really tell from the pictures per say but what is the boiler hooked up to? Looks like a lot of condensation...probabaly hooked to a lot of standing CI rads w/o any boiler protection. I wonder what the combustion chamber looks like....kpc

  • Shrink the picture!

Having shrink the picture down so that it can be viewed for all to see, I see what appears to be an extremely damp basement or a G-115 that is in the process of dying a slow and miserable death. I also see an attempt at primary-secondary boiler piping. I see what appears to be two system zone pumps above but you can't really tell what is going on up above with all of the black plastic covering everything up.

well.... maybe you have alot of leaks or....

the pipe busted somewhere when along the line. you can be sure that without any temp gages on the return ,there is no really Great way to figure out what is actually happening or when. my thought would be to further isolate the boiler from the "field" with a modulating setpoint control or pump logic ....and put some gages on the supply out to the Field,...... and the return above the lowest T of the new bypass. then i'd likely go for partial differential reset for GP's and get a handle on the zoning of that system.

looks like the feed is piped into return, air scoop in wrong location, circulator in wrong spot, tape on the smoke pipe, hey is this a trick pic?

    Agreed!

Serious piping errors and condensation to boot. Buderus would not be happy with this and the installation will affect factory warranty. This boiler needs a repipe, correct controls and a bypass.

    G115

It's hard to get a total look at the near boiler piping due to the pipe wrapping, but as others have mentioned, a proper by-pass is needed on this large mass system. What did the inside of the boiler look like? How old is the system? Is the homeowner willing to hire you correct this? You are correct about the warranty might be void if left this way.
