In reviewing your drawing, the proposed drip on the system side of the counterflow zones motorized globe valve dropping down and tying into the other zones wet return is the best way to go. Depending on the size of the bypass around those valves, the steam will migrate into the others piping. If you put in the drip on the counterflow side, you shouldn't need the bypasss around the valves anymore. Just make sure you have main vents on these mains. What type of Low Water Cutoff and feeder are you using and what model of Burnham boiler is it?

Hey Glen
Sorry I forgot your name..lol.. THANKS for the reply..I havent seen the job yet but a tech called me today about the problem.Im pretty sure its a 7 section Burnham. We mainly use Burnham, The by pass is 1/2" on both valves.. There was a problem at install and they thought it was fixed with the by-pass.. I didnt like that idea lol.So you think Im on the right track then..And awhile ago you sent me a piping diagram of a counter flo system..Still have it.. Thanks for that as well..Do you think it may be drawing a vacume??I do not want to use a check valve!if possible..Im out of Bangor Me. can I call you tomorrow or do I call the Ma. office??0 -
