Stopped in today to do some fine-tuning
of the boiler we installed in the summer. The job was a little more involved than normal because of the height of the chimney breech - very low. The old water heater and boiler had a draft inducer that ran only if the boiler was running - no safeties on it either. Along with a back up low water cutoff, and the fields control wiring, Jimmy The Gent had his hands full. The also had a hwbb zone that never really got hot and was perpetually air bound. A full repipe and Spiro-T-Agnew-vent solved that. The homeowner Steve and his Lovely wife Jayne were those 2% of customers that truly appreciated what we did, were willing to pay the cost of doing it right, and treated us like family. Coffee and donuts all day, full lunches, dinner one night, and even a few cold ones when it was all over. A pleasure working for them. Mad Dog

Nothing more satisfying than great installs & happy customers...
... the referrals keep coming, the system keeps purring, etc. Great install, Matt, the way you worked around the chimney breech height restriction is inspiring. With time, I hope that more contractors and homeowners take as much pride in their heating plants like you, Steve, and Jayne obviously do.0 -
A Great Job!!
But then again I expect nothing less out of you. You can't help but feel satisfied when the customers are so thrilled. Nice to see you are using the Riello gun on that Peerless. My sisters house had a problematic Carlin on their Peerless boiler. All problems gone with the Riello(It looks good in the green color). Semper Fidelis Hydronicus

I have Air Guard today
just up doing a light workout. Because as Winston Churchill said " An air base should be a stronghold of fighting men. Not civilians in the prime of their life wearing a uniform." Great Job once again pal !!

Nice Work...
as usual Mad Dog. I'm glad your customer is understanding that it takes more than a knucklhead with some pipe wrenches to do things right. I'm sure they'll be comfortable for years to come!

ITs a feast or a famine........
60% 0f people will offer a drink or coffee, but not much more than that. A few more might offer you lunch. But it is the rare few that open their home to you. Mad Dog

Outstanding work, Matt.
I've worked in brownstones on Christmas Eve to give people heat. Not a peep from the homeowners. Not a thank you or an offer of coffee. Then, sometiomes you get people that MAKE you and your crew sit down, all sooty and dirty, to dinner with their whole family. And during the blessing, they mention the miracle you created in the basement.
I live for that. It ain't just money.
I'll still go out and make heat for anyone.0 -
