"Carbon monoxide victims identified

GULFPORT - The names of Florida construction workers who died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator operating inside a Gulfport townhouse were released this morning.

Song Hong Le of Pinellas Park and Xuan Van Pham of St. Petersburg, appear to have died in their sleep of carbon monoxide poisoning Thursday at Pinewood Apartments, said Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove. The men, both 52, were on the Coast to make repairs from Hurricane Katrina.

Their deaths have been ruled accidental, but the case remains under investigation by Gulfport police investigators and city code enforcement officers.

A third man, whose name hasn't been released, remains in critical condition at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, Hargrove said."




When I first read this I thought, these guys should know better. But in reality, they probably just didn't know -- period. It's tragic that people who help other people have to die senselessly like this.
