I just fired up up a GB 142-30 yesterday. It was wired by the owner's electrician. It would run for a while then shut down on a 2F error meaning no flow.I contacted Joe and he said I may have an air problem.I purged the system and fired it up again, same problem.I then got my multimeter out and found there was no voltage to the primary pump.Thinking I may have a bad board I called Joe back but it was after 4:30 and he had left.Buderus really should have shifts so that someone can be around later especially for west coast.Anyway,I got hold of Joe this morning and asked him when the pump should have power and he told me when power should be at contact #63.I'm looking at the board and this is the point where I closed my eyes, slowly shook my head and pinched the bridge of my nose. The electrician had wired the primary into the recirc connection and I didn't double check his work to the wiring diagram.

    Thanks Joe,

    Joe ,

Joe bailed me out this afternoon too. He was the person who helped me the day before thanksgiving also.

I had a hydro air zone blowing cold air because it was 43° outside and the boiler was maintaining 113°. Joe had me adjust some curves and ratios and offsets and setbacks. I had to scribble all the info on a note pad out at my truck because the cell phone won't work in the boiler room. I passed the test, got it right first shot. Didn't even have to call Joe back. Best part, the customer wrote me a check!

    Joe

Had a similar situation last fall. Started up my 1st GB and after doing some combustion checks the thing quit. I spent most of the day on the phone with various service reps with no luck, the thing would not run. I called Buderus and spoke to Joe. Took him about 10 seconds to tell me what I had done wrong and how to fix it. Now every one is happy, happy, happy.

    Kudos to Joe.

I just fired a GB today and ran only the two hydro-air units, I can't get pass
133* when the units are running, but have it dialed in at 190* I was going to call Joe @ Buderus monday, but maybe you can tell me what you did.

    Gb vs 2107

I have a 2107 , I never did a GB yet. The 190° must be the high limit? Joe had me reset the reference point for the curve and reset the Day and Night temps. Ireset the day from 70° to 84° and the moon to 82° And I changed another value from zero to nine. I left my notes in the truck. I would be more specific but I am not sure if anything would apply to your GB. I went to Buderus school 3 years ago and my former employer never did "fancy" stuff. So if you don't use it you tend to lose it.

    GB142

Are you using the RC10? It should not be used with hydro air applications. What speed is the Grundfos pump that is on the pipe manifold set at? Should be set to #2 (medium speed). Is the burner modulation rate set to 100%? Check these items first.

Bill - good job on setting up the R2107!! Thanks for the kind words - just doing my job.

I hate even saying stuff like this on here, cause I know what it stirs up, but does this guy making a mistake qualify him as an idiot? Have you ever made a mistake? I have and I'm sure I'll make many more in my life. Maybe he didn't know what a recirc pump was- a boiler with connections to run 4 pumps tends to be out of the ordinary for some I would believe.

    Idiots

I was referring to myself. The buck stops here.It is my responsibility to double check anything done on my systems.Of course it was an honest mistake on his part.

    Hydro-air

No RC10. Relay in at WA
pump speed at medium, the GB goes up to 190 when they are not calling for
heat, but as soon as the air handlers come on the temp drops and does not go back up to dialed in high limit. I will check burner modulation.
This is temporary heat right now, until radiant zones get hooked up,hydro will be supplemental.
    Thank You.

    Been there

And done that. Boy it's tough to get the egg off your face. Thank's though Dan, that did bring a smile to my face. Got me thinking of all the "projects" I did that didn't come out exactly as good as I pictured (or just plain fell over when I was done).. :)

    bashing

Lots of times I want to scream #$%^&* Idiot who did this ? to the homeowner . That is the the truth of course , but I try and bite my lip . I wont accuse the other guy but will frequently say things like ," Well they may have had a reason they felt was important for doing it that way , however at BES we have found that by using this type of pipe arrangement and controll stategy we get exceptional results. I would like to try that in your home , if it does not work we will fix it or it is free , we won't leave you hanging , when would you like us to start?".

Let he who hath not sinned...

I loved my old boss mostly because of the patience he had towards people. Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone" he would say. In August I left a cover off a rooftop unit and I'm still paying the price for it. Yesterday a seasoned veteran installed a multi-position furnace in the wrong orietation. All I was supposed to do at 3:30 was convert it to LP and fire it. I flipped the unit and finally fired the unit at 8:00pm but the gleam that filled my eyes and smile in my soul the next morning at the break table made it worth it.
