Lately I have gotter a few people with steam boilers looking to add some radiant heating. What is your usual solution to this if there is no coil to use? I did one a few years ago with some sort of big heavy heat exchanger which worked out ok but I remember as a pain to do. Is there an easier way?

    I never

tried it but I think if you came off the bottom and mid section or dip tube to a Taco Mixing Block that might solve a lot of issues, 'cept mud of course. Or you could install a 2 coil Amtrol Boilermate using 1 coil for the radiant.

    funny you should mention Taco..

I just opened my mail and there's an ad in a trade mag for something called the taco X-Pump Block, like the mixing block but with a heat exchanger built in. I could connect it to the water heater and not mess with the boiler...gotta go check it out...
