Double pumping questions

A call out Hot rod, and any one who can answer this puzzling question for me. I understand parallel pumping with two pumps piped in parallel, but can you pipe two circulators one to each other, (residential) to increase the GPM and ft of head ratings? If so, does it double the ratings of the pump ability piped this way. I lost Dan's book, with the information in it. I have a job that this might work on. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
