My Dad
They put my Dad, a WWII veteran, in the hospital yesterday. He got a piece of meat lodged in his throat, but the EMT's were there and helped him right away and suggested he go to the hospital.
At the hospital, they found he wasn't doing as good as he thought he was. They put in a breathing tube to help him and sedated him. The sedation is a good thing, because he was concious enough to not like it. It seems he was not breathing for a short time and they thought he might have been oxygen deprived for too long.
Please keep him in your thoughts.
Thanks.

Jeff my friend
I certainly hope all is better when you read this. My thoughts will be with you throughout the next few days.
I am currently reading the book and they were a special group of Americans. The impressive thing to me is that few of them thought they did any thing great. Almost to a person, they claim they were just doing their duty.
All of us young and old can look upon them with pride and a feeling of a debt we can never repay. I personally look upon them with awe. I wonder how I would have reacted in the battles they fought. In my case, being an ex flier, the battles over Europe. Being challenged every mission would wear on any person. As I have gotten older I have thought about it a great deal. Especially now with our young folks in harms way again.
Please let me know when your Dad is out of the woods.

Jeff
Hope your dad is doing OK. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I am leaving next Tues to go visit my parents. Mom is having some Kidney problems and we will be going to the doctor with her on the 8th so we can see how serious things are. Information has been sketchy (she doesn't know or remember what the doctor tells her), my wife, Karen is a nurse so she speaks the language. Otherwise they are doing good for an 84 and 82 year old couple.

Hope this
is just a minor bump in the road. My Dad is 82 and has gotten very fragile. When he was in WWII he flew bombing missions over France and Flew supply missions to China from India over the Himilayan mountains. We almost lost him 3 years ago and all the professionals thought he had no chance, but they didnt take into account how stubborn he was, or how much he loved my mother. He is now in Fla. relaxing and square dancing 3 nights a week. Your Dad has my familys prayers. WW
