ya that's the expansion tank. Not necessarily a tear out. How's it working? Alot of old radiant ceiling systems still working just fine. No reason for them not to. The old floor radiants went 'cause they buried copper right in the concrete. ouch. Might want to replace the boiler for a new condensing boiler. As I have said, I really like the Buderous GB142. If that old one is working, no need to do anything yet. You need to find a good boiler guy out that way and go over the system. He can quote a new boiler for ya as well if you want. Get several quotes for condensing and non-condensing. Burnham makes a good one and I am told the Munchkin condensing boiler is real nice as well, from wallies and the supply houses around here. We are in the north metro, so too far for us

question for Jeff..
This house is being auctioned in Wabasha; its right on the Mississippi, so it might be a teardown. The view is OK:)

Its got ceiling radiant, circa 1949. Here is the boiler pic. Is that large tank the expansion tank? I don't know beans about ceiling radiant. Would it be a tear out? Thanks.0
