    College Internships

It seems like just yesterday that Suffolk County Community College opened its doors to the new Associates Degree program in HVAC/R. That was in September of 2003. The students who began the program in the Fall of 2003 are now nearing the completion of their coursework and, in doing so, need to complete a 120-hour internship in the field. Since internships are not paid, this may present a valuable opportunity for those of you in need of a helping and learning hand. For those of you who lent a hand in January of 2004 (remember those really cold days, guys?) installing the heating equipment in the lab (and even for those of you who were not able to join in the festivities), this poses a great opportunity to give students the chance to see how things are done out in the real world.

The students will be doing the internship in the fall of 2005, but I am allowing the students to complete their 120 hours over the summer if the opportunity presents itself.

If any of you fine gentlemen are interested in participating, you can post here or contact me at the college. The number there is (631) 851-6897. Email at the office: silbere@sunysuffolk.edu.

    Thanks
