ZONE VALVES

I HAVE AN 8 APARTMENT BUILDING W/ZONE VALVES IN DIFFERENCT AREAS IN THE BASEMENT THAT CURRENTLY USE B&G THAT EITHER LEAK OR DO NOT CLOSE. CAN I INSTALL 3 WIRE TACO ZONE VALVES IN AN UPSIDE DOWN POSITION?????????

Leak?
It all depends if the current zone valves you are using are 2 or 3 wire valves. They are not reccomended to be mounted with the heads upside down. as long as the existing valves are 3 wire you can use Honeywell.taco.W>R etc...0 -
One other thought,...
If you are actually seeing that some valve are not closing, is it due to junk in the system or is the pump so groosly oversized that the valve itself cannot overcome the pressure created by the pump??? Just a thought.0 -
Answer is you Can do anything once, This is America.
however, having the valves replaced 90 degrees to the plane they now reference would be doing yourself a favor...it would keep any water or anti feeze from seeping into the electromechanical actuators...should they leak.0
