I believe if my memory serves me correctly that it was the "Tri-Delta" pressure switch manufacturer defect or the little blue colored orifice in the switch that was at fault. I can't remember, it was so long ago.

Looking for any feedback on Dunkirk Utica 90+ boilers
If anybody has had experience with either the Quantum 90/UB 90-100 or Quantum 90-200/UB 90-200 I would apprieciate hearing it. I have seen the 90-100 in its Carrier form a few years ago but don't know its track record. The 90-200 seems more complex/less standard parts. Is it new?
Thanks in advance for your help!0 -

Wasn't there another boiler in the Quantum series at one time?

I service a couple in my area
No major problems with the 100 series. Haven't worked on the 200 yet, but I've seen a few. They are being used for Lennox totalheat replacements I believe.
Saw the new modualting unit at a trade show earlier this year. Looks like a nice unit.
Don't do much in hydronics here, but they seem nice

I'm not familiar with that particular unit but
I have always liked the Dunkirk line. Never had any problems with them and support was always terrifac. Course I only lived 30 miles from the plant at the time, but what other plant manager would ever have given you his home phone number? He would open up that plant day or night and steal a part off an existing boiler if he had to, to get you up and running. I never had to do that, but a couple of the local guys had,0 -

Q-90/100/150 etc...
I like em alot,... They did have a small problem with the lo press switch on a few of the 100 series models, but all in all they are nice. A-little difficult to troubleshoot just because of the location of the Micro-processor.(way in back). Just make sure to adj. the aquastat limit after installation. It is always set lo. also increase your diff. to 15* or 20* depending on your application.0 -
Dunkirk/Utica????
Mike, they appear to be identical, just the jacket is different. Not suprising, ECR and all. But the Q-90 vs. the Q90-200 are different blocks. What's the difference between the Q-90 block and the Q-200 Uniblock? Same difference with Utica UB90-100 vs. UB90-200.

I installed
a Quantum 100 several years ago and had the dreaded intermittant, pressure switch problem spoken of above. Hard to troubleshoot at the time since the micro-proccessor had no diagnostics built in, and the problem happened quickly and very intermitantly. I know they were working on an upgrade that would include diagnostic codes and a modulating feature. I don't know where it stands though. Once I caught the problem and fixxed it it has run well ever since. WW
