I am bidding on the replacement of a mills 24 boiler that originally a webster vacumm system am i going to run into a problem if i remove the vacumm trap from the system

Sure it's not a Return Trap or a Float Trap/Air Eliminator? According to Lost Art, the Webster Vacuum system had a vacuum pump. But Webster also marketed the Modulation system that just had a FT/AE with a vacuum check on top, and a system that also included a Return Trap.

vent the h!!!!! out of it and put her on a vaporstat...if you can still get one. Mad Dog

That FT/AE

probably has tappings for a sight glass. If you remove the plug in the top one you can use it for a second vent. The vacuum check should be removed also and a main vent installed- I'd use Gorton #2 vents.

As Mad Dog says, use a Vaporstat on this system.
