Electric to hot water in a Deckhouse?

Anyone have experience to share in an Acorn deckhouse? New owner in Dover, MA wants to retain the original style and flavor, but needs to upgrade electric heat to FHW by oil. I have some ideas, but any suggestions borne of experience will help.
