This house was frist heated with a Vapor steam system, 15 yrs or so ago the ripped out the old boiler and put in a water boiler and added coin vents to the rads, there was a LOT of water running thru those big pipes, they was 4" 3" 2" 1 1/4" 1" and 3/4" with some 1/2 to boot, the HO wanted to keep the rads ( i was glad to hear that ). we ripped out all the old pipes that were running like a muti-split loop system. install a 1 1/4 Mono-flow system in the main house, 3- 1" zones and a inderect, there was also a 4 season room for that we put in a plate exchanger so we could run it with no-burst and not have it in the rest of the system. it was a fun job. to bad they had to mess with that vapor system if they just put in a new steam boiler and it would have been fine
