The system in the house was a Vapor steam system, about 15 yrs ago some one ripped out the old boiler and turned it to hydronic, added coin vents, left all the old pipes there 4" 3" 2 1/2" 1" 3/4", man there was some water float'n around that cellar, there was only one boiler then it let go, so they replaced that with a 468 w+m then added a second boiler a go-4 w+m, the 468 was on its last leg,
we got in there ripped out all the old pipe HO wanted to keep old rads ,i thought that was great! we switched it over to a 1 1/4 MONO flow system for 6the main house and three more cast Base board and i put in a plate exchanger for the 4 season sun room so could use no-burst in just that room. plus a 50 gal inderect... all the rads are now the same temp plus running on out door reset thru the 2107. three day job but worth evry minute
