What Safety features should I have with replacement boiler

You will always benefit from a condensing boiler. They are simply more efficient. You get higher efficiencies with these when the system temp is lower (ie: radiant heat), but they are still ahead of anything else.
Most boilers come with all the needed safety devices, but a leak detector is a good idea in the boiler will be located in finished space, and a CO monitor is an absolute must for this application. There are multiple sources for leak monitoring devices and your heating pro should be able to help you out.

    Safety features on replacement boiler

I plan to have my 30 year old gas boiler that feeds fin tube base board for a 1500 sq foot home on 2 floor in NH replaced before winter. We don't plan to live there for ever. Game plan is for 85%+ and outdoor reset something that modulate would be nice too. In a non radiant appplication do I benefit from condensing?

What safety features should it have ? I am aware of low water cut off, is there some thing that detects leakage so I wouldn't flood the basement? Any thing else suggested?

    Thank you
