hot water rising

Try introducing heated water into tank near bottom, provide an opening 180* away and slightly lower to supply water to pump for panels to be heated, supply for heat emmiters would come off the top of the tank

Ok I am getting closer to setting up my solara array. I am concerned with the hot tank fluid rising out of the tank.. and back to the panels. What type of device do I need to stop this on both the supply and return side? Zone valves? or just a backflow preventer? But one will be facing wrong direction correct?0 -
Possibly...
... heat traps. Make them deep, say 18". Advantage is no moving parts though they may need bleeders at the high points.

tank is just an open vessel
My system will be closed system each side.I was just trying to figure out how to keep the heat from climbing back up the plaumbing and rising to the colder panels.0 -
thermosiphoning
Read Tom Lane's book on solar. You can use check valve(s) or a zone valve which closes at the appropriate time/temperature.(or opens), which ever you choose. The simplest way to me would be to activate a zone valve with the pump control.0
