Contractor won' return calls

Dear Professor ...
I am doing extensive remodeling to my house. Selected the AC contractor based on personal knowledge of his work. Really top quality. Doing renovations to a 1860 house is always a problem and tricky. AC Contractor installed 4 Sanyo mini split units, beautiful job, he has been using it for references. During the last 7 weeks I have called him at least 8 times, sent two letters asking for a call to discuss a few problems. No call back. This is not a payment issue, he was paid for the job the day I received the invoice(s). This job was completed during the last 6 months. Other than parking in his driveway, any hints on getting his attention? Two other contractors on the job are not happy with his non-response ..they feel that he is giving the local contractor community a bad name.
