How much to under-fire my boiler

My new WM SGO-4 boiler was installed per specs and sized according to what seem to be proper measurements. In previous postings, I have been trying to trouble-shoot whistling air vents on radiators. The boiler is clean, pipes insulated. Installation of a Vaporstat with 4-oz cut-in and 8-oz cut-out has reduced the whistling a great deal, but the system still makes noises.

Steamhead suggested that the boiler might be overfired for the load. Right now, the nozzle is a 1.10 gpm nozzle that was delivered with the boiler package.

This morning was our first "design day" with a temp of 2* above zero. My house recovered from a 7* set-back with 80 minutes of burner time. After reaching 69*, the temperature was steady for the next two hours with fifteen minutes of run time.

What do I tell my oil company to install for a new nozzle? Am I saving oil by having such a fast recovery of steam?

Suggestions?
