Make sure the butterfly valve is open.Beware of bent stop arms.

look for air traps on the risers or bad convector hight or pitch...A bubble has to rise all the way to the vent on the loop...

    mono flow problems

We are having a number of promlems with a new boiler / indirect water heater installation.
Is the any reason why a normal piping configuration (boiler to the expansion tank to the pump) would not work in a system with mono flow tee's. One rad. won't heat and the customer states that it worked before we started. should the pump be on the return side?
Also, the water coming out of the new water heater is red like iron and again the customer is stating the this was not the case before the installation.
    any ideas.

    Mono flo systems

require that a vent is needed on each heating element in the system. Air release is usually difficult to obtain without individual air vents. That will most likely take care of the cold heating elements. As for red water? is that the potable ( drinking ) water or the boiler water? It is an indication of iron dissolved in the water, and could be caused by several factors. If drinking water, place some cold water in a stainless steel pan and heat it on the stove. after it is hot, place it in a clear glass vessel and see if it is red! if so your getting that from the city, and or source.
If in the boiler system. Venting all the air, flushing the system, may well be the answer. Good luck
