Cost of Gas Heat - Your Opinion is Valued and Appreciated

Question 1: Why do I, in Brookln, pay 1.53 per therm from Keyspan(Last year at this time it was .79 per therm. Is that legal?) While my daughter pays 1.22 per themrm in Long Island.

Question 2: Take a look at this: We insulated pipes, put in new double-paned, gas-filled windows, insulated many openings, completely turned off four large cast iron radiators in four rooms upstairs and keep the doors shut and sealed. Insulated the boiler with 1900 degree boiler cemement used by the The Board of Education and the Department of Housing. We keep the thermostat locked at 68 degrees where last year it was close to 70. And it was warmer this year for the last two months of billing than last year. Still, with all of these steps taken to reduce fuel consumption, Keyspan says we've used about twenty more therms this year. Does that make any sense?

Hmm. Check again. I'm on LI and heres my bill from last month.
144.63 for 77 therms/74 CCF including all the fake smoke and mirror delivery charges, therm factors, WNA whatever that is, etc.That's 1.88 a therm.

keyspan is one of the most dishonest & unscrupulous corporations that could ever be. they would kill their mothers for a nickel. if there is a way to rob you, they are on it.
