Wiring WM Ultra 155

I just got the opportunity to wire a new Ultra 155.
He is using a Gold Plus sixty and 4 heating zones.
the question is how are we supposed to wire in additional
zones and still use the priority feature and the reset temperature? The switching relay is a SR506. I could not locate anything helpful in the control supplement, or online. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

    well...

If it's piped and wired according to the instructions, no explanation is necessary.

    Tony:
I did not see anything in the control supplement for zoning with multiple circulators, an everyday occurance
around here. It does show multiple circulators in the
piping section. Any other help will be appreciated

    ultra 155

Just piped and wired my first ultra i can't remenber the size but the indirect should be wired into the ultras board for priority and increased recovery while the isolated end switch on your sr506 relay should just tie into the heating low voltage terminals .If you are using the priority of the taco sr relay then you will be treating your domestic tank like any other zone and you will get priority over your other zones but the boiler will not ramp up to full output and the temp will only be as high as the outdoor reset tells the heating zones to be also you may have promblems with getting any domestic hot water when the heating end is off for warm weather shut down .You should re read the installation instruction and re check the piping other wise you are not going to get the full use of this unit .If you are indeed using that taco relay for the indirect then your in for some fun check out the instruction i'm not the smartest guy around but i found the unit very easy to install read the instruction and if your still having promblems then contact a pro to wire it other wise you'll be in for a nightmare good luck and peace clammy

    Rich.....

It's sooooo simple that your tring to make it complicated.
Simply wire the indirect t-stat and the indirect circ. pump to the terminals as marked on the Ultra board.
Wire the circ. for the boiler to the term. for the heat side. wire the XX terminals from the sr control to the heat terminals on the Ultra. Wire the zone t-stats and pumps, to the proper terminals in the SR control. and WALLLLLLAAAAA you gots your problem solved... it's that easy.!!!!

    Have a geat day!!

    It would be helpful

to see a drawing or pic of your installation. Did you plumb a primary secondary loop for multiple circs?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply's
I was concerned that when the heating zones called the circulators would run even when there was a DHW call.
I then realized when its primary/secondary its ok for the heating pumps to run because the boiler circulator would not be.
I just finished the wiring today and it was easy, once I
realized the heat and priority would not be troublesome.
Instead of using the sr506 priority I used the boilers control.
    Thanks Again

Its not my boiler job just wired it for a plumber friend
So no pic's available at this time,
One more question, the 0011 circulator for the boiler I
assume it needed to be that large because of the hi-head thru the boiler? However he has a 007 piped to the Gold plus 60 indirect directly off the boiler supply and return
Do you think this might be a concern( not large enough)
for the boiler and the water heater?
The Gas meter is being installed tomorrow, so we did not run it this afternoon.

    Ouch

Yes, the DHW circ needs to be the same, a 0011.
It won't run long on a 007, the boiler "knows" when it's heating too fast and will shut down.

Sorry for my "short" reply earlier, I figured if you didn't understand the instructions or hadn't read them I wasn't willing to help you do harm. They are, after all, well explained instructions.

    The installation manual

shows which pumps are acceptable for primary and indirect tanks. And be sure you locate the pump(s) on the return, pumping into the boiler, again in the installation drawings.
