my Spiro Agnew trashcan. A shame he was from Maryland. He was a maroon. His burnt marshmellow speech proved it. WW

    Oh, I mean Spiro Therm

has finally resigned :) to the fact hydronicians in this country like to solder things together. A sweat version of the JS, 3/4- 2" in now avaiable. Yeah!!!

Does it read that the vertical series is available in sweat also? If so, I would be the happiest plumber around.

I've always like the ability to screw a FIP pex adapter on the vent nose and pipe it out of harms way. I hated threading copper to mip adapters into the unit however, in fact I would usually sweat the threaded connection also.

    No more. Thanks Spiro :)

    PS, think ProPress also

    alright, good job

So you got the Greek to look.....

Yeah, it is good news about the solder fittings, but I have'nt tried soldering one yet. Why solder the thread? I assume you are using two male adapters anyway?

    You forgot

    the T

Somewhere, tucked away in a box, I have a RM Nixon & ST Agnew set of candles. I had much longer hair in those days(G).

    Ever see

what glycol does to that copper to brass threaded connection? Don't know that I have ever seen a glycoled Spiro that wasn't green, and weepy around the threads. I KNOW solder holds glycol at bay :)

    If memory serves

I'll find a George McGovern for Prez pin stuck in the Nixon candle(g).

I read a poem at my graduation from high school. Short & to the point. If only I'd known..... It went like this: "I was always afraid of being a radical when young for fear of being conservative when old." It was by Robert Frost (I think).

    Solder Flux

I have been able to find my favorite brand of solder flux for a while now. (Thunder Bolt) So, my question is, what is your favorite brand of solder flux?

    Thanks...!!!

    fav flux

I have been using Oatey #5 for a long time now, so far I have not had a reason to change, can't beat that sodium chloride for a nice neat joint, and you can always go back after soldering to adust a joint is need be without taking everything apart. I only use this stuff on hydronic work.

When working on potable plumbing work I use Oatey's water soluble stuff, as long as you know how to solder correctly without burning every fitting it is a good flux. But boy that sodium chloride is soo much easier to work with......

    Do you mean zinc chloride?

The sodium chloride around here is salt. :)

    Comical politicians

Remember the Nattering Nabobs of Negativism? What about Bebe Rebozo? whatever became of him? By the way; does a low loss header alleviate the need for a air removal device in line?
