Make sure the complete loop is insulated. It is code...

    Recirculating Pump for Every Return Riser

    A contractor suggested to put a circulating pump for every hot water return riser then to a common return loop to the heater in a high end high rise building to better keep hot water for every one and thus we don't have to worry about balancing.
