I want to know if any flexible wrap-type products are out there anybody can recommend to use instead of rigid foam. I have a builder who does not want to use it, anybody use something suitable? I am not an advocate of the foil-faced bubble products, any other options? I have talked to U.L. about a product called "The Barrier", but cannot find a U.L. Listing certification for it. Lets see what we come up with.......

I found something promising- no foil

I was doing internet searches, and found a company called Northwest Ohio Foam Products. They manufacture a product called The Barrier Under slab Insulation. The marketing distributor is Microfoil.

    Here's a link- http://www.microfoil.com/barrier.htm

Looks like it is a flexible extruded polystyrene foam wrapped in 2 layers of 3 mil polyvinyl. The rep told me that the performance of this product compares to 2" Structural Foam. He said that the R-value rating does not address insulation under a concrete slab, and rather gives the product a K-rating. I will be finding out more about this product, what a K-rating is and will let you guys know what I come up with!

Lets get talking, I am sick of losing jobs to cheap, no-ethics contractors and maybe we have something that will install quick, and be better than rigid foam.

BTW, have you guys heard about termites digging small cities in foam installed under slabs? The fun never ends...I love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
