Pipe insulation

in THE MAIN WALL
Copper pipes running from the boiler to the radiators need to be insulated? These pipes are running on the ceiling and are attached close to an exterior wall. What kind of insulation should I use if it requires insulation? And what portion of the pipes can be exposed without insulation, if any?

    Unless they're really big pipes and you're using them to heat the space, it's always a good idea to insulate.

    Split pipe insulation (self-adhesive at the joint) is easy to find at home centers for up to ¾" at least. Larger sizes are available through plumbing houses. VERY easy to install and decent insulation value.

    No harm (only good) by insulating every pipe you can reasonably access.
