I have a weil McLain 368st oil fired steam boiler,is it wise to flush the whole boiler, after the heating season. The boiler is used for hot water in the summer, Is there anything to put in the water to clean the boiler, that does not harm the seals. Or should i use just plain water. Thank you tom

Best thing is to ...............
leave it alone. That boiler is atleast 10 years old and water in system is now void of air. Castiron + water + air = rust/rot. So if you were to drain and refill you would start the cycle all over again. hope this helps John@Reliable0 -

If it is a hot water boiler leave it alone. If it is steam then there are some great products out there.0
