spill traps

The Job:
Twin 200 HP scotch type boilers running lead/lag, each w/two DHW coils. These boilers will run during the heating season only. [[Summertime DHW is provided by three Aerco water boilers w/2,000,000 BTU each [modulating & condensing]providing hot water to one plate type heat exchanger for this 362 family house.]] We installed one steam trap on each individual equalizer to maintain proper water lines. Somehow, the thread-o-let was misplaced too low by 1/2" below NWL.
My Solution:
Rather than re-position the thread-o-let I want to use a street L & 45 then the trap, thereby raising the trap level. My higher authority feels the water line will still run low as the water will be forced out the outlet until the water reaches the t-o-l position.
"In my mind's eye" as Dan would put it, I see that happening, yet I need to be convinced.

nothing worse than having to correct an error but at least you caught it rather than have it bite you in the rump after job is signed off. even if you think you can get away with it .if boss is uneasy why fight him and take a shot ?/ play safe and redo it and everybody sleeps well. elbow set will look like a mistake even if it does work and easier to change it now than later when job is cleaned off. i rest my case,Frank. i almost feel like helping you! lol
