Mystery author needs help

Mystery author

Hello. I am a published author of mysteries and find myself with a big mystery to solve: I need informaton on what heating systems were like in large old homes in Michigan from 1900-1940s. If anyone with expertise and a little imagination would care to help out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Working on a historical
novel myself after 9 technical texts and scores of manuals I'm finding historical societies to be a great help.
Not only will these lovely mature people tell you what they know, but they speak volumes of personal vignettes and knowledge too!
Just an idea.

It would have been
either fireplaces, or gravity hot water heat, or steam heat. You can find the sales literature for the two latter systems in the Library section of this site. Take special note of the Sears catalog in the Homeowners/Builders section.
Good luck with the new book!Retired and loving it.0 -
These people may
also be of some help, especially Ferris State and Northern Michigan.

Will \"Fire E. Dragon\"
be one of the central characters in your novel? ;-)

C'mon
you can only get away with that once, maybe twice. Actually Frank it's a period piece during the Revolutionary War set in Greater Boston. Having lots of fun researching it.0 -
The charicters better not do damage to the equipment !
I hate that every time a story goes into a machinary room,it results in damage.
If you put this in your story, it will be lump hammers at ten paces at dawn. There was an error rendering this rich post.
