Coming to you once again for help!

    Dear Friends,

First of all, I wanted to thank all of you once again for your support of my fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Team in Training. My event is in less than a month and I've raised just about $3,000. I'm thrilled!

Before that one's even finished, though, I've gotten myself into another, even more ambitious venture, and this one is even more personal. About 6 months ago, my good friend Amy Bjornstad was diagnosed with breast cancer. Amy just turned 30 and is the mother of a beautiful 2-year-old boy. She is also the toughest lady I know, staring this cancer down with the ferocity of a soldier, and she's gotten herself through intensive chemotherapy, a double mascectomy, and is now on hormonal treatments to continue to ward off the cancer. She's an amazing woman, and she's inspired a group of her friends to join her in walking the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk in Chicago on September 16-18. We will walk 60 miles on that weekend (20 miles per day), having raised a minimum of $2,100 each for the Susan Komen Foundation. We will walk together as Amy's Army, and I'm once again asking for your help.

Here's the link to my donation page:

    Kelly's Walk for Amy

Please give whatever you can to help fight this terrible disease. If you'd like to donate via check, or if your company has a matching gift program, please contact me at kholohan@nd.edu or send checks to me at 112 Badin Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

Thank you all so much for your continued support. You're all wonderful people!

    Kelly

    There's even a

$5.00 catagory. Can you swing that?

Cancer can hit any of us, and at any time. Let's work toward a cure.

How about all of you Flat Rate vs. T&M warriors. Got five bucks to spare? Step up and do something really important.

    At Wetstock,

we'll have a 50/50 for this, if that's okay with you all.

I wish you could meet Amy B. Tough woman.

    Even though it's impossible to

be successful using T&M, I may be able to scrounge around, put food on the table AND throw a few bucks at a worthy cause (;-o)

And am proud to do so. Nice job Kel.

    wife doing chemo now

How about doing research on prevention!! OR a vaccine like they did for Polio. Ther medical community wants NOTHING TO DO WITH PREVENTION OR A VACCINE. They're making WAY TOO much money with their cures.

Kelly's nearly at the halfway mark.

If everyone who visited this site on a single day would donate just five bucks she would soar over her goal in that one day, and a lot of women would benefit from your kindness.

Will you help? Breast cancer doesn't discriminate.

    cancer

Doesn't discriminate. I did mine in memory of Brian - even though his is not BC. He awoke from his pain in time to hold up a hand-written "Thank-You" as we were leaving. Mike had wanted his chance to say good-by and thanks for helping him. I extended my hand and attempted to say the same in response. Through his morphine-induced-haze, Brian could see which hand I'd extended and, instead, held out his left to give me the Order of The Arrow Brotherhood handshake. Maybe, just maybe, our donations will help someone avoid such a trip to visit a friend in their last hours.

I would also like to thank Dan for this great website and very informative books. I am still learning about boilers so I don't cotribute much to the board. But I'm always lurking.
