silly-sounding question...
if your aquastat on a residential hot water boiler has 'high' and 'low' settings say, of 180 and 160, what should your differential be set at? What exactly is the diff. for?

    Is it an 8124? If it is, set the diff anywhere between 10 and 25. At the settings that you posted, I would set the diff at 20, although I set almost all of them at 20.

    It's a adjustment of the range for the low limit.

    Depends on the system or needs as to what to set it on.

    Factory 5* drop + diff equals low's top setting....
