Prayers again (SE)

S Ebels
S Ebels Member Posts: 2,322
Some of you remember about a year ago my best friend was killed in a hunting accident. Now his wife, Linda, has just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Please pray for Linda as she deals with the long term effects of this illness. Pray for Kathy and I that we can be there for her for as long as it takes and whatever it takes.

Linda and my wife Kathy were wrapping Christmas presents together at our house in December when Linda commented that she must have lost a contact lense. She went back home to look for it and came back to our house 15 minutes later puzzled because the contact was in her eye and she hadn't lost it after all. Her vision got worse through the day and the next day it was so degraded that Kathy had to drive her to the doctor's office. That's how it began. After a host of tests, the doctor's have confirmed that she does have this disease. Please, please remember Linda and her kids in your prayers.

A really sad story, Steve. She's lucky to have friends like you, though.

    Wow....

sometimes it just seems like the attacks never end and that some people just get attacked way more than they deserve.
Your friend needs to remain strong and the strentgh of the many behind her will give her the strentgh she needs.

Give her the love and prayer from the "Wall".

    Some good meds now

    Steve,

We've known several folks that have had MS for several years and they have done pretty well.

The husband of a former receptionist that worked for us years ago came down with MS. He started taking a monthly injection and has done extremely well. Still works as a contracting supervisor after being diagnosed 11 years ago.

Another friend of my son and daughter-in-law has MS and is a grade school teacher. She also takes the shots. She has had 2 children and is now expecting her third. She was diagnosed just before they got married and they have now been married 8 years. Unless a person knows of her situation, they would not be aware. During pregnancy, she has to get off the injections, but picks them back up after the birth of the babies.

Another friend of mine was a coach and he has had it for nearly 20 years. He didn't have the meds they have now and doesn't have the use of his lower extremities, but his mind and attitude are really great. I've never heard him complain and he makes the best out of every day.

She will be in our prayers, but she needs to understand that her world isn't ending. Stay Positive.
