Well, when you say curch and school....
are we refering to a petite building or two with a footprint in two states of the union ?0 -
My last sizing job in
wholesale in 1999 sold for $126,000 installed. It heated a church, rectory, school and convent. Keep in mind 1999!!!!0 -
Depends
You would have to provide much more info for anyone here to make even a semi-valid judgement. Semi-valid because we can't lay our eyes on your particular situation.
That being said it would be very possible to take the identical boiler and have the installation price vary by 5 figures easily for different locations. You must remember you are not buying the boiler only but also the ability of the installer to integrate it into your present heating system.
Is it possible? Certainly is! We priced a replacement boiler and a pretty substantial boiler room piping re-do that went over $140,000. The boiler and control package price was around $43K, the rest was piping, new circs and labor. We had the job (school) until our dear governor decided that she'd cut the state school budget to pieces last year.
Shop around, buy the most efficient boiler you can get your hands on. It's obvious that energy costs are going to go through the roof in the next 10 years unless the whole world economy collapses. Double today's energy bill and you'll be in the ballpark.0 -
one other minor technicality is the moving around of such..
equipment...last year ,a steam boiler nearly new 3 years old was being "given "away...only costs were to remove and restore whatever walls etc that would need to be moved...the boiler was arround 200 million btus or so...i would hazard a realistic guess the various fees and variances just to get it on a truck and down the road would eat just about every dime of the money you are currently considering spending...0 -
it all depends on what you have --we have subbed for some jobs that were over a million --a good sized church, rectory and school it is in the ballpark--of course this is sight unseen you need to realize its not just the boiler --it is boiler removal most likely some asbestos abatement lot of piping, some welding or a lot of welding, electrical, controls and some valves pumps if its a awater system --and rigging --material costs have gone way up for everything also0
