John Paul II

My heart and prayers go out to all of my Catholic friends who have just lost their Holy Father. If heaven exists, John Paul has surely found his way with grace.

The world has lost a champion of human freedom. A good and faithful servant of God has been called home. May we always remember this humble, wise and fearless priest who became one of history's great moral leaders.

I am not a Catholic but

I hold an enormous amount of respect for that man. He was used by God to change the course of history in Eastern Europe and was a tireless advocate of the underprivileged and downtrodden in the world. His stand on the sanctity of human life was unwavering and was a breath of fresh air in a world where many have no moral compass. God rest his soul.

BTW Gary, you hit the nail on the head. Grace is the only way any of us make it there.

    John Paul

He was a tireless advocate of the oppressed people of our world. I can only hope that the hierarchy of my faith will appoint such a tireless crusader. Our spiritual leader is gone and certainly not long forgotten. John Paul led the Catholic Church through some of it's most difficult times. My faith intact, I optomistically await the future.

    He was...

one of the greatest human beings of the last 50 years.

Because he was so humble, he would argue with that...I am not a devout Catholic, but he was the moral compass for three generations.

He could speak several different languages fluently. He was nearly assassinated, then forgave his attacker. He was the epitomy of grace, courage and forthrightness.

We may never see another one like him...

    Take Care, PJO

    Pope

You can't argue with success. The 1-2-3 punch of John Paul, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, communism was shown the door, hope was given to millions and our ancestral homes in Europe were reunited, as well as a renewed sense of morality. Not bad.

Thank You Gary.....yes he spoke 8!!!!!! Languages

Helluva man...helluva Pope! He and Ronald Reagan were the two moral and political icons of my formative years. Couldn't have had better shepards. My young son and daughter will be watching the funeral on tape when we get a chance. You will not see his like again!. Mad Dog
