Re-sizing pictures

How do you re-size pictures to post on the wall? I hate it when people post the size you need a 52" monitor to read the text and see the picture. I want to post my picture it is HHUUUGGE.
I have a Kodak DX4530 5.0 pixel. I have a thing that plugs into the camera and into the computer. I can download the pictures into the computer but like I said , they are too big?
What do you have to do? I could post pics with my old computer, not with the one I have now?

Not a problem...
... just download Irfanview, which IMO is the best free image utility on the Windows platform and proceed to use it to resize the pictures you've downloaded from your camera.
First, open the picture with Irfanview, then immeadiately "Save As" it on your desktop under a different, descriptive name. That way, you preserve the original image and make uploading it easier on yourself.
Then proceed to re-size it to be less than 600 pixels tall or wide. That way it'll easily fit into a window on the Wall. Now save the file again and you should be all set. Cheers!0 -

How many pixies for a Mac. I bought Mr. Lemke's cd and Mr. Henke's books and I'm still confused. I guess it's just another learning curve I'll have to deal with. bob0 -
Hi Bob!
The pixels remain the same... 600 or less. Pixels are the same on the PC and the Mac, each pixel is a spot on your screen. Cheers! Constantin0 -
Constantin?
I guess it is hard to fix stupid. I down loaded it, but now I can't get my pictures from my files to the irf thingie program.
I didn't know what to pick [when downloasing] so I hit select all, was that bad?
I have no teen agers or ten year olds in my home to help me.0 -
Not stupid at all!
Help me with a few of these questions, and I'll do my best to help you...
How do you download the images from your camera to your computer?
Is there a specific directory in which you store them?
Do you store each download in a separate folder?0 -

I can resize in Photoshop or several other photo editing software packages, but I've found Paint to be easiest.
Open Paint
Open your picture file
Drag the picture (left click & hold) onto the Paint tab showing on the task bar. That'll open Paint as the window & then simply position your cursor on the Paint blank page and release the left click. The picture drops into Paint.
Click on Stretch/Skew in the drop-down list
Replace the 100% with 50% (or any percentage that works) for both horizontal & vertical in the Stretch portion and click on OK.
When you have the picture sized to suit, click on File and drop down to Save As. Pick a file folder or a floppy and click on the drop-down list at the bottom where it says: Save as type & save as a JPEG file. Your original picture file remains where it was & as it was.

Eleft helped me by phone. I gave two weeks notice on Tuesday, sent home on Thurs . I was not allowed to pumpaway or use isolation flanges or manufactured headers. SO.....!
I had to leave so I could pursue work that interests me.0 -
Not allowed to pump away?!?!?
That sounds like grounds for dis-missle to me!
"Take dis missle and shove it!"

Bill, I wish you all the best and thank you for the pictures you posted. I like the built-in expansion potential of the system you installed...0
