This old timer failed inspection by the state. Gee wonder why..You could actually see the flame through the front as it fired..

    fast replacement

We started at 11. Running by 4. Not exactly as I would have liked to pipe it (yes I agree with pumping away but couldn't fit the circ's in) but it works good..

We have a town where every house has a common supply that goes to the end of a finished basement , and comes back split into separate zones . No way to reverse it to have the pumps on the supply , so we install them on the return . As far as I know , there aint many airlock problems on the new install .

One thing I would suggest with these tight installs is to use a zero clearance air separator ( we've been using B ang G , works great ) , or even rely on the built in air eliminator on the Weil . I think the built in does an excellent job on it's own . What kind of heat do they have over there ?

Hey , 5 hours to install and you found time to raise it on blocks , keep every critical component accessible , pipe a thermal trap and mixer for the coil , and have everything level and square - what more could the homeowner ask for ?

    Nice job.

Two things will make it easer to service. 1)Flex oil feed line. 2)A ball valve on the supply near the boiler.

    Again fine Craftsmanship,

Hard for any argument by HO...no penalties :)

only one itty bitty ?/ though..../ does the insulation stuffed in the chiminey feed the same L- vent?

    Believe it or not

Weezbo you have a heck of an eye. That opening is actually there for the two 150,000 BTU gas HW heaters. This pic is of the vent pipe which the caretaker decided to turn and end in the cellar (at least till I got there). That will be the next part of the project...:)

    I agree with you

But I was on a very slim budget for this one. We were actually only paid to replace the boiler itself. The owner wanted a simple one for one swap (how I have no clue). Being slightly stubborn I sort of broke the budget with the extra piping I did. As to flex line's, I would love to but again....:( I just do what the boss wants..

    Coming from you

That's a heck of a compliment. THanks Ron. As to the B@G..I'm still working on those (boss is stubborn). If you look I was actually forced to use the old air scoop. I got to the job and found they had sent the wrong size. As to level and square, ummm it never saw a level. I actually use a laser level to give me a line to follow and then just shoot it by eye. It's not perfect but when your under the gun it's quick...I have to do something to keep up with your level of work..:)

    The bite you later thing

The oil pump is easy, 2 screws and hang it on the return, not as easy on the supply. It looks like it all comes out when you have to replace a circulator.

    again great work,
